Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ron Betty (aka Seedy Ron) and his wife embraced the small town, tiny home, off-the-grid lifestyle in 2017 and now live on a 2.5 acre orange grove in the quaint mountain town of Ojai, CA.

SeedyRons.com is a passion project born out of an annual tomato planting tradition started by Ron's grandmother, passed down to Ron's father, and continued by Ron. For as long as Ron can remember, he and his father have planted tomatoes together each spring and have enjoyed/shared their fresh tomatoes (almost) year-round at the Betty's family home in sunny Los Angeles.

In March 2020, Ron decided to share some of the Betty family's favorite tomato varieties by opening an Etsy seed shop. Since then, he has expanded his inventory to include tomatillos, melons, squash, and citrus.
